Leading and developing high performance teams is a crucial issue for companies looking for business success in the current economic climate. There is a focus now on how the people in an organization can create the competitive edge.
Ali Stewart talks to Andy Britnell about the 4 step process involved in Leading & Developing High Performance. Ali outlines the process and talks about each step. She also explains why each step is important and why most managers get stuck.
The four steps are:
1. Visioning
2. Mobilising
3. Developing
4. Enabling
Further pages and posts will elaborate on the ideas presented here. Again, your feedback is always welcome.

Dear Andy and Ali,
Another good effort. Here are some immediate thoughts:
1. Nice and informal – even the sun passing between clouds and the odd bit of traffic noise is not too amateurish because it all lends itself to the light and friendly atmosphere that is well portrayed by two ‘likeable’ on screen characters. What I think I’m trying to say here is that you do not come across as slick and insincere, but remain 2 ordinary folk talking in front of a camera.
2. Ali was clear in her explanations – obviously steeped in the subject.
3. Andy summarised well, adding his own ‘take’ nicely. Maybe a tad too much of hand movements, Andy, but hey – extraverts and introverts all have their own way and who am I to talk!
4. One tiny suggestion for future. Ali – maybe call Andy ‘Andy’ slightly less often as one doesn’t do this so much in real life conversations.
Well done! You guys are off to a good start and I bet, as more videos are done, a ‘naturalness’ will flow as you become gracefully ‘unconsciously competent’. And so far you have got your messsage across clearly in nice bite sized chunks.

Thanks again for the well considered and constructive feedback Aidan. We are certainly only at the conscious competence phase with the video although I agree that we are becoming a little more natural in the approach.
We didn’t want the videos to be too ‘staged’ or over produced so I am pleased that we have the balance right. As for waving my arms about I am going to have to contain my preference for kinaesthetic expression and extroverted attitude!

It’s a thoroughly informative video – giving a great explanation of the 4 step process; whether you are familiar with it or not.
The pace and content are just right – a goldilocks moment!!
